Crochet Baby Turban Pattern

After first seeing a crocheted baby turban via Pinterest, I just knew I had to make one for Ella Rose. I reviewed several hat patterns, and eventually created one of my own that resulted in a stylish mini turban that is too cute for words.

This hat requires only basic crochet stitches, and works up fairly quickly. It makes for a great baby shower gift, or if you're anything like me, you'll want to make it in about 100 different colors for your own little one.

I'm sharing the pattern in size 0-3 months. If you don't crochet, or are looking for it in other sizes, please check out my Etsy shop, littlepeachblossoms.etsy.com.

Rnd 7- ch 1, 1 hdc in each st around, through back loop only (44 hdc)
Repeat rounds 6 and 7 each 4 times (4 ribs), for a total of 15 rounds.

Thread yarn needle with approximately 12 inches of yarn, wrap yarn from top of first rib to edge of hat, about 12 times, and pull tight. Tie off and weave in ends.

    1. Thank you Dara! For gauge, I got 4 hdc= 1 inch. The finished hat measures approximately 5 inches in height, and about 13-14 inches in circumference. If you wanted it to be slightly bigger, you could always try a size I hook!

    2. Thanks, that is super helpful since I don't have a newborn around right now! Also, I noticed that if rows 6-7 are repeated four times, there should be a total of 15 rounds, not 13.

    3. I have made some edits, I think the way I wrote it was a little confusing. Hopefully it's correct now, however, I have to admit, chasing a toddler around he having a newborn have made my brain a little foggy.

    1. Hi Lesley,
I haven't had time to work out an adult pattern for this hat style, but I found this link on Pinterest:

  4. HI Jessica,
I am making a baby turban hat and I just want to be sure about round 6.
Do you mean to work in the front loops only?

    2. I tried round 6 through both loops but decided to do the front loop instead, after I found out that it looked better overall. Thanks for getting back to me and confirming it with me. This is such a cute pattern! Thank you again! :)
