Our Christmas Tree

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to cut down my own Christmas tree.  Yet every year, we head to a tree stand, pick out our pre-cut tree, and lug it home to decorate.

This year, with Max being 2.5, and finally beginning to comprehend the magic of Christmas, I convinced Mike that we had to make it happen.

So, the day after Thanksgiving we bundled up, loaded the kids into the truck and took off for the tree farm.

When we arrived, it was exactly as I had always imagined it would be... Happy families everywhere, in search of the perfect tree. hot cocoa and donuts being served, and fields full of trees in various sizes, destined to provide the backdrop for this year's holiday memories.

After several freezing cold minutes, and lots of encouragement for Max to keep walking, rather than eating snow, we stumbled upon our perfect tree.

Being the manly man that he is, Mike was down to business in no time, and had it chopped down and ready to go  within a few moments.

I think the whole experience is best summed up in photos, but it certainly was a memorable one, and we can't wait to do it all over again next year!

The holidays really are the "most wonderful time of the year"!
